Trauma-Informed Care (TIC)

Trauma-informed care is an approach to engaging people with histories of trauma that recognizes the presence of trauma symptoms and acknowledges the role that trauma has played in their lives (SAMHSA, 2011).

NARBHA is working with ADHS/ DBHS to become more trauma-informed in developing programs, providing treatment, and promoting recovery.  This statewide initiative is being carried out through Trauma-Informed Care Dialogues, held around northern Arizona. These Dialogues are conversations with consumers, providers, and community stakeholders about trauma and ways to be more informed about triggers - both positive and negative.

If you are interested in participating in a Trauma-Informed Care Dialogue in your area, please contact Communications@narbha.org or (928)214-1155 for more information.
